Ernest (Abdullah) Douglas was born August 5, 1954 in Bronx, NY to Ernest Douglas Sr. and Viola Douglas. Ernest valued education, and attended Bronx Community College. He also loved to expand his vocabulary, often using these words in his rap lyrics he wrote as a hobby. Ernest also was an excellent singer, valued his appearance and taking care of his family through hard work. Ernest also was a 5th Degree Black Belt in Ti Quan Do, as well as a 1st degree Brown Belt in Miyama Ryu JuJutsu. Ernest loved his sweets, his pets, having parties at the house with family where loud music was played, family sang and danced, and listened to his animated stories of his experiences growing up. Ernest also enjoyed taking long walks, watching sports (Football, Boxing and Baseball). True to his faith, Ernest was a devote Muslim and changed his name to Abdullah, meaning "The Slave of Allah".
