Fernando C. Giampietro Gates: June 19, 2019, at the age of 93. Fernando is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lillian (Pastorelli) Giampietro; daughters, Michelle Giampietro Lisa (Christian) Adams; grandchildren, Nicholas Danielle Swetz; great-grandson, Mason Love Swetz; sister, Josephine Giampietro; several nieces nephews. Fernando's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Wedgewood Nursing Home and Lifetime Care Hospice for their compassionate care. Fernando was an Army veteran, proudly serving in World War II. Fernando's life story will be shared during visitation 2-5 PM on Sunday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY 14626. His funeral service will be celebrated 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Fernando was born October of 1925 to Fernando Consezio Amelia Ranaletta. Fernando joined the Army, part of the 329th infantry 83rd division, company C. He served his country proudly during WWII. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he spent most of his life as a manager of grocery stores with the exception of the last 7 years of his career where he worked on the assembly line at Delco Products. On one of the best days of his life he married his wife Lillian and the two were together for 56 years. The next best days were the births of their two daughters, Lisa Michele. Eventually they were blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Nick Danielle, a great grandson, Mason, and of course, their furry grandpoodle, Teddy. He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Being a veteran, loved anything that had to do with WWII. He loved to watch nature shows and game shows like Wheel of Fortune Jeopardy. He read the paper daily to keep up on current events sports, especially Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees. Fernando was also very active in his church, never missing a service. He often ushered and passed the collection plate and also called BINGO numbers for many years. Laid back and quiet, are two words to describe Fernando. He very rarely got fired up. He was the best husband, dad and grandfather ever and will be greatly missed.
