Flora was born on July 16, 1930 in Rochester, NY to John and Anna Spinosa. She grew up on Avery Street with her brothers, Sam and Tom, and all their relatives lived nearby. Flora and her husband, Tony met through their parents who were mutual friends. They married and went on to have 2 children, Ben and Steven. Flora and Tony were later blessed with 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. They were married for 48 years. Flora loved to travel to New York City, Boston, Fort Lauderdale and Italy. In recent years, she spent much of her time in Florida. Flora loved music, attending Broadway musicals and listening to her son perform. She liked to shop and truly loved to host parties for family and friends at her favorite restaurants. All though Flora learned how to cook from her mother, knew all the family recipes at the top of her head, the family would joke why she would need the latest kitchen appliances when she never plugged in the stove. Her third hobby was cleaning. 24/7 with a set weekly schedule. You could know the day of the week by what room she was working on. She was a positive person who was energetic and always on the go never late. Flora was described as the family confidant and the family Matriarch. She was generous, loving and social. Flora was a strong, resilient woman who fought 2 battles with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her family and will always be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
