Andrew Smith and Mary E. Sullivan Smith. She grew up in Rochester with her five siblings, Irene, Morgan, Donald, Marian and J. Raymond. She attended Holy Apostles Catholic Elementary and Nazareth Academy. After Graduating in 1923 she began work as a teller at Rochester Savings Bank. Florence married William O`Brien, who was employed at the Sagamore Hotel, in 1930. The couple moved to the Washington, D.C. area where they started a family. Mary, Jean, David and Donald were born. They returned to Rochester in 1945 and settled on Delmar Street. William began employment at Bond Bread and their family grew when Tom and Kevin were born. Florence was an active member of Holy Apostles Parish, Mothers Club, Rosary Society, H.A.R.T.S. Club, and Nazareth Academy Alumnae Association. She was widowed in 1971 and spent her later years devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling throughout the country to visit them. In 1996, she suffered a stroke and entered Shore Winds Nursing Home. Florence died June 20, 2003 at age 96. Donations Donations may be sent to Holy Apostles Church or Our Lady of Mercy Building Fund Services Visitation Monday 2- 4 7-9. Florence`s Funeral Mass will be held 9:15 Tuesday at Holy Apostles Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
