Florence was born on August 24, 1924 to Michael and Grace in Rochester, NY. She became a second mother to her sisters and their own mother died at an early age. She met Vincent DeMario when she was introduced by family members. They were later married in Rochester, NY. She was a devoted mother to her son, Edward and to her loving daughter-in-law, Marisa. Her pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Stephen Gabriella, who she loved so dearly. She attended all of their sporting events and concerts at Pinebrook and Greece Athena as well as award ceremonies, graduations, and celebrations with their friends as well. Florence bonded with the younger generation so much so that she was fondly called "Homie Flo", particularly from Marisa's adoring niece Vanessa and nephews Michael Christopher who were like her own grandchildren to her.
Cooking for her family was one of her great enjoyments in life. She was noted for her cheesecake and her delicious meatballs. Florence loved holidays, birthdays and family gatherings. She was always supportive of her grandchildren and their friends also knew her as "Mama Buddy".
Some of Florence's favorite activities included cooking, Tuesday shopping and lunch group with her dear friends and family, visiting family in NYC, card playing with her family. She was also a Sacred Heart League member, and a life-long parishioner of Most Precious Blood until its closing when she then attended St. Jude the Apostle church. She was very strong in her faith and regularly prayed the rosary.
Florence liked Frank Sinatra music, oldies music on the radio, and watching television, especially the cooking channel, Food Network, and One Life to Live.
Family and friends would best describe Florence as someone who was caring, faithful, a good listener, humble, a "peacemaker" and always put others first. Florence always made sure her family was happy and cared for and loved family tradition. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
