Durrant, Florence M. "Flo" (Dretto) Greece: November 17, 2016. Florence is predeceased by her parents, Joe & Rose Dretto; sister-in-law, Pat Mathis. She is survived by her husband, John T. Durrant; son, Joseph (Jessi Pitrelli) Durrant; brother, John (Marlene) Dretto; sister-in-law, Jeanne (Gregory) Benedict; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Florence's visitation will be Sunday, 1-4 PM. Her funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, 11:15 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Ave., followed by her entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National Ataxia Foundation, P.O. Box 16560, Rochester, NY 14616 or to St. Anne's Foundation, 1500 Portland Avenue, Rochester, New York 14621 in Florence's memory. Born to parents, Joseph & Rose Dretto, Florence grew up in the Whitney Street neighborhood. They later moved to Greece where she eventually graduated from Olympia High School. For many years, Florence worked with her family at Mascot Inc. here in Rochester. Florence and her husband John met each other on a blind date and eventually married at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Their family grew with the birth of their son Joe. Florence was always happy and greeted you with her seemingly constant smile. She was soft-spoken, kind, sweet, helpful to others, and all the while she maintained her effervescent personality. She loved her family. Any reason to get together was good enough for her. She especially looked forward to the holiday gatherings and family reunions. Florence's music taste included the oldies. She was an avid reader and she often found herself devouring mystery and romance novels. Her favorite TV shows included the likes of NCIS and Dancing with the Stars. She was a NY Yankees fan. Florence liked to travel on Caribbean cruises with family and friends. She enjoyed working on word jumbles in the local newspaper. Florence's Italian heritage contributed to her love of cooking, especially the Italian dishes she prepared (her pizza was beyond compare). Florence's lovable personality was cherished by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
