Florence was born to her parents Antonio & Mary Grace (Mitrano) Brongo on June 30, 1929. She and her siblings Toby & Tom grew up in the Oak St/Rutter St. neighborhoods.
Florence was well liked and considered a leader amongst her peers. This was evident during her High School years at Jefferson where she served as Secretary to her classmates.
She was hardworking and dedicated. She served Delco for more than 30 years in their assembly area.
Florence's life was difficult at times. It was her faith in God that gave her strength and determination.
Sunday's were the best! Her homemade sauce and chicken soup simmering, with Italian music was a tradition, before heading to church and then to the cemetery.
She was our family organizer and party planner, meticulous with every detail. Holidays were always a special time. Everyone looked forward to her Thanksgiving turkey. She always prepared more than enough for everyone to take some home.
Florence enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Keuka Lake. She always looked forward to relaxing and partying on her pontoon boat "Sweet Flo".
Rushford Lake was a special time for fun and making family memories, especially with her 6 Grandchildren & 13 Great-Grandchildren. They were the light of her life and she cherished every moment.
She enjoyed her involvement with the "Seniors on the Move" and the "Widows Group" at St. Mark's Church. Florence treasured her lifelong friendships no matter where or when the friendships began. She would do anything, for anyone, at anytime.
Florence was loving, caring, hardworking, resilient & loyal. She had an infectious smile. Her friendliness and kindness, attracted most. To say she was loved, is an understatement.
Nothing was more important to Florence than the happiness of her family. She always believed that we should never take anything for granted, we should love one another, always make time for your loved ones, and hug each other daily.
Florence's unconditional love, kind heart, sweet smile, constant care for her family, her daily phone calls, and desire to brighten everyone's day will sadly be missed by all.
The most important thing that Florence has left behind is her beautiful legacy of life, and her gift of love to those whom she loved. "Thank you, God bless you, and I love you," are her words we will always remember.
