He was an only child and spent his youth traveling around the world with his father, who was a pilot. He also played Varsity basketball throughout his school years. In 1987, at the age of 19, Gary met his wife, Tina. They met at Black Angus Bar & Grill. At the time, Gary was working as a D.J. there and his friend made a bet with him that he wouldn't ask Tina to dance. Well, he did! They were married on September 29, 1997. Shortly after, they started a family. Their family formed initially with two step-daughters, Jenn & Alicia. Gary & Tina's family grew from there, they had three more children, Josh, Aricka and Gary Jr. Gary was very interested in technology and completed his degree in Computer Science in 2011. He worked as an IT professional, who seemed to be able to fix anything that could be wrong with a computer. This became a bit ironic because he was not good at operating smart phones. Some of Gary's most special events in his life was hosting every holiday at his home. He also enjoyed throwing a "pajama Christmas" theme for his family. Gary's greatest days of his life were the birth of his children and the births of his 6 grandchildren. During his free time, Gary enjoyed swimming in the pool and roller blading with his children. He also loved BBQ's, biking, hiking and playing games with his kids. Throughout his life, he liked watching his favorite sports teams, which was the San Francisco 49ers football team and the Warriors basketball team. He also loved watching wrestling and playing video games as often as possible. Gary was described as a level-headed, relaxed and open person. He was known to be loving, loyal and genuine. Gary loved to tell stale jokes in which he always had a big smile and would throw his head back in laughter. Family was always the most important to him during his life. Gary will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will be always fondly remembered.
