Resided in: Rochester, NY

Gary Peter Giannetto, 81, passed away peacefully in his home on March 28th, 2025. He was surrounded by the love and comfort of his daughters after a brief but courageous battle with liver cancer.

Gary was predeceased by his beautiful wife Nora Peach Giannetto, his two brothers Leonard and Richard Giannetto, and his son-in-law Jeff Tyler. He is survived by his daughters, Tracy Tyler and Danielle Benner, son-in-law Brian Benner, grandchildren, Hunter and Georgia, brother Ronald Giannetto, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved dearly.

Gary was a cherished father, grandfather, and friend who would help anyone at the drop of a hat. He and his wife always opened up their home and made everyone feel welcome. His nieces, nephews and daughters’ friends spent a lot of time in the warm and welcoming home that they created. Gary also had a profound love for gardening and nature, and had an even bigger love for playing cards and eating good food. His loyalty and protective nature will be missed by everyone around him.

Visitation will be the funeral home on April 18th from 3-4:30 pm with a memorial service at 4:30. The family will hold a private reception following the service.

A special thank you to The UR Medicine Hospice workers that helped Gary and his family through this difficult journey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UR Medicine Hospice, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, New York, 14580.
