As an adult he worked for Kodak for a short time, Stecher Traung Lithography for 23 years, and then Xerox where he retired in 1994. George loved his flowers. In fact, he sold fresh cut flowers on street corners which is what brought he and his wife Rosemarie together. He was selling flowers on Main Street when a young store cashier approached him asking for change for the store. They met in 1946 and they were married October 30, 1948. He was so dedicated to Rosemarie he converted to Catholicism the day before the wedding! He often brought her gardenias and marigolds. They had 5 children together, often taking them to Don Bob's after work. He worked a lot, but did whatever was needed for his family. George loved spicy food, fried potatoes and onions, hotdogs and hamburgers, and banana splits from Carvels. You'd often hear him say "How's the ice cream?" He was an animal lover and an avid bird watcher. He cruised and traveled around the world. He was involved in his parish and active in the Knights of Columbus.
