Returned home to God and his family on November 12, 2015 after a wonderful visit of 91 years. Known as Bill until he entered the Army in 1942, he was persuaded to be known as George. During his lifetime he lived in Rochester and also on Keuka Lake. He attended St. Boniface, Aquinas Institute and St. Bonaventure University. He met Marie, his wife, on stage and their act stayed together for 64 years. Both he and Marie performed in amateur theater. George was one of the first presidents of the Black Friars in the 50's. George served his country proudly in the US Army during WWII.
George was predeceased by his wife, Marie Mayo Weider son, Billy Weider. Survived by his children, Scott M. (Kayce) Weider, Amy M. (Michael Ferranti) Weider Marybeth (Elke Augustino) Weider; grandchildren, Devin (Megumi) James Weider, Griffin Scott Weider, Nicole (Tim) Holahan, Peter (Andrea) Borrelli; great-grandchildren, George Holahan Josephine Holahan, Gianna Borrelli Dominic Borrelli; several nieces nephews. He will be missed by his family friends.
George's visitation will be held 4-8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte 390 Long Pond Rd). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 AM on Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Ave. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Veterans Outreach Center, 447 South Ave, Rochester, NY 14620 in George's memory.
