Greece: May 8, 2014. John is predeceased by his loving wife, Maria; brothers, Gino, Franco; sisters, Maria Rosalia. He is survived by his children; Joe (Nancy) , Lou (Angela) and John (Stacy) Bellanca, grandchildren Jonathan, Joey, Luca Nico Bellanca; brothers, Lino Tony; sister, Melina; many nieces and nephews here and in Sicily. John's visitation will be held 4-8PM on Monday. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM St. Lawrence Church, 1000 North Greece Rd. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimers Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd, Rochester NY 14620 in John's memory. Giovanni was born in Facarazzi, Italy. Giovanni met Maria in Italy. She was "attracted" to Giovanni's striped shirt. Giovanni and Maria married , had three sons. At the age of 30, Giovanni emigrated to the US and settled in Rochester to join other family members. Giovanni had four brothers , three sisters. He began working as a tailor at Fashion Park. He worked at Rochester Products for 22 years, and retired in 1998. Giovanni enjoyed all the holidays with his family, even every Sunday having family for dinner. Some of Giovanni's favorite activities included gardening, eating Mari's food, watching his favorite soccer team, Juventus, and spending winters in Florida, starting in 1999. Giovanni loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching movies, grilling and taking care of his pool. Friends and family would best describe Giovanni as jovial, reserved, enjoyed telling jokes, particularly with a story, always well-dressed, punctual. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
