December 26, 2019. Gloria is predeceased by her parents, Pasquale Thelma Carrese; daughter, Nancy Parks sister, Honey Kristansen. She is survived by her children, Dianne (Lori Anderson) Agostinelli, Paul (Kathy) Agostinelli Patrick (Susan) Agostinelli; grandchildren, James (Jamie) Corteville, Arianna (Andrew) Klassen, Mary (Grant) Weil, David Parks, Lauren Parks, Gina (fiancé Matt Bower) Agostinelli, Talia Agostinelli, Dominic Agostinelli; Great-Grandchildren, Austin Bailey; brother Ed (Louise) Carrese; Gloria's children's father Romolo Agostinelli; several nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends. Special thanks to the caregivers at the ICU East 7 Inpatient Units at Highland Hospital. Gloria's life story will be shared during her visiting hours, Monday, December 30th, 2-4 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.). Her Funeral Service will be celebrated Tuesday, December 31st, 10 AM at the funeral home. Her entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will follow her funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester, NY 14623 in her memory. Gloria was born to her parents Pasquale Thelma Carrese, July 28, 1934. Gloria and her siblings were raised in the city of Rochester. In her grade school years Gloria played the violin and the piano. Once into high school she began bowling and was on the Madison HS Bowling Team. Prior to her children being born Gloria worked at Taylor Instruments manufacturing thermometers. She later worked as a lunchroom monitor at the Neil Armstrong School in the Gates Chili School District. Gloria was a very accomplished seamstress. Her talents gave joy to others, whether it was a wedding gown, prom dress or everyday clothing. During her working at Bridal Hall she would take part in wedding gown alterations and she also worked on elaborate beading of the gowns themselves. She was a loving mother to 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister, brother, nieces, nephews and friends. Family gatherings were something she always enjoyed. Coming to her home was a must and she would cook and bake to the delight of all who gathered there. Birthday parties were extra special. It didn't matter how old you were, the youthful birthday celebrations continued into adulthood. Her cut out cookies around the holidays were a family favorite. Her cooking was so good that she was able to prepare foods that you might ordinarily not consider. It was said that she could and did prepare cow tongue to unsuspecting guests at her dinner table. It wasn't until after they raved and had asked what is in the sauce that she came clean! Her love of bowling in her high school years extended into adult hood. She bowled in leagues regularly, competed in the Lilac Tournament and had even bowled a 300 game! Gloria's competitive nature found her playing in adult volleyball leagues. She was an Eagles Club Member and donated her time to Mt. Carmel House and School of the Holy Childhood. Her favorite music to listen to was Andrea Boccelli. Gloria will be fondly recalled for being; genuine, caring, patient, generous, loving, kind, social and resilient. If you look at Gloria's passions, competitive nature, work and her home life a resounding theme comes to mind. She had a gift to create, work, compete and show her love to others while cooking or with thread and needle. All of these things were so because her loving hands made it so! She didn't like to say goodbye, she would rather say "toot a loo." Her final toot a loo today has even more meaning than before.
