January 8, 2013 after illness. Jim is survived by his wife and soul mate Joan; his children: Jeff (Monica) Quarfot, Tracy (William) Pellicano, Todd (Beth) Quarfot, Laney (Joseph) Vogt, Gail Van Auker, Todd (Michele) Van Auker; 18 loving grandchildren and many great friends. Jim proudly served the US Military in both the Army and Navy. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jim will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched with his love, humor and warmth. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.). Jim's Memorial Service is at Hope Lutheran Church (1301 Vintage Lane) on Saturday at 11:00am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Jim's memory.
