She was raised in Spencerport, NY on Wittier Road. She graduated from West High School in the class of 1953 and eventually attended Bryant and Stratton College and graduated with a secretarial degree. Though she had dreams of becoming a flight attendant and traveling the world, she was proud of her job accomplishments working as an executive secretary for Frank Domino Construction, and Fischer Scientific in Rochester. In the mid 80's Janice had a brain aneurism, which she overcame and became a founding director for the Rochester Foundation of Persons with Brain Injuries in 1989. This is still a viable, thriving foundation associated with the Hickok Center for Brain Injury. Besides family, one of her greatest joys was raising German Shepherds and Appaloosa horses. Janice was also an Elvis Presley fan. On her Williamson farm she loved gardening and canning. She enjoyed summer family gatherings and barbecues at her home in Gates. She was and active swimmer, deer hunter, horseback rider and loved snowmobiling. One of her more adventurous excursions included locking the throttle on the family dirt bike as she took a spin around the farm which led to a wipe out! She also bagged a trophy buck that got her picture in the paper! Janice was an independent, strong woman who was also a kind, compassionate, loving mother.
