Orrico, Jennie M. (Calandra) Gates: July 29, 2015. Jennie is predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Orrico Jr. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn (August) Megalo, Lillian (Lee) Larkin, Michele (Mark) Miller; grandchildren, Michael (Kelli) Megalo, Daniel (Nicole) Megalo, Laura (Scott) Watson, Alyse (Chris) Wuest, Lee Larkin, Mark (Danielle) Miller Jr., Emilie Miller; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Anne) Calandra; Sister, Tina (John) Cianciotto; sister in-law's, Dorothy Calandra, Dorothy Orrico; several nieces, nephews dear friends. For more information about Jennie, visit aliferemembered.com. Jennie's visitation will be Sunday from 1-5 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) Her funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Jude The Apostle Church, 4100 Lyell Road. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Jennie was born on January 12, 1930. She grew up on Jay and Broad St. in Rochester, NY. During her youth, Jennie graduated from Madison High School in 1948 and always took care of her younger siblings. She worked at Beechwood Nursing Home for over 40 years. Jennie was actively involved at Beechwood and was very well liked by the nursing home employee's and residents. She truly enjoyed special events and was always waiting for the next holiday. Jennie's family looked forward to her wonderful cooking during the holidays. She loved to bake and cook, some of her specialty dishes were pasta, macaroni salad, cookies and biscotti. Jennie loved animals, especially her pet cat Lucy. She enjoyed bird watching and sewing. Jennie was actively involved in Most Precious Blood church activities, as well as, festivals and bingo games. She liked to watch the Italian Channel and the Cooking channel during her free time. Jennie was known to be a caring, friendly and a happy person. She was also warm, loving and thoughtful. Jennie will be dearly missed by many loved ones and lovingly remembered.
