In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice, 2652 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626 in John's memory. John was born on January 27, 1942 to Wesley Gertrude Bleier, and as a child, enjoyed spending time with his brothers, Pat Keith. He was a typical "boy" growing up on Radio Street and attended School #20. He attended Edison Technical High School where he was very active and was a wrestler. As a teen, he was known to Bev as Jack the neighbor, and Bev didnt care for him. They ended up dating during their teen years and later reconnected via phone through Linda Distante. In Bev's eye, he was John and it was irony of the two different people who were actually one. John's career as a supervisor for 38 years established him as a company man who was well-respected by all his co-workers. John loved his family and all family events and holidays, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving. He was always supportive of his grandkids' events. In his spare time, John enjoyed being a faithful servant to his religion, doing anything outdoors such as hunting deer turkey, fishing, and working with his hands. He led Bible study group at Hope Church, loved to eat, and was a member of Echo Club Fish Mike's. Some of John's favorite things included "Jessie", watching Jeopardy, reading religious books and history books. He was a history buff. He was often known for saying "thanks for coming, thanks for going". Family and friends would best describe John as someone who was loving, giving, humorous, strong, caring, always worrying about others, and someone who loved hard and impacted the lives of others. Dear Partners, A dear friend and brother in Christ went home today after his battle with cancer. John Bleier was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many. His smile and unconditional love was a testimony to the love Jesus Christ freely gives to all of us. John's willingness to stand firm and share the Good News of the Gospel no matter the cost, was an attribute that will live within our hearts forever. Humble and soft spoken, yet strong in character, integrity, and perseverance, John leaves all of us with an unceasing picture of what is possible when we give our life to Jesus. So many lives have been impacted by his presence, his demeanor, and his willingness to serve others. We rejoice today knowing that John is in heaven and has redeemed his life everlasting promise that all of us have in Jesus Christ. We will miss him dearly. Nick DiBella, Jim Pavone, Kirk Dueker
