John (Jack) was born in Olean, NY and grew up in Rochester, NY. Jack was the 3rd of 6 children. Jack has one sister, Patricia four brothers, Leo, Tom, Joe Jim. His sister "Pat" remembers as children making many trips together to Olean, where our parents grew up. There in the summer months we would go to Cuba Lake with our Aunt Jane Uncle Howie. Aunt Jane taught us how to swim and Uncle Howie taught us how to fish. His best friend growing up as a kid through high school, college beyond was Gerry Phelan. He would spend many Christmas Eve's with us talking politics with our dad. Gerry went on to become the Chief of Greece Police.
Jack attended Immaculate Conception Church School. He then graduated from Aquinas Institute and went on to St. Bonaventure. Jack worked his way through high school and college at Wegmans in Rochester the Market Basket Store in Alleghany to pay his tuition. Jack loved swimming. He and his friends would get together and go swimming at the "high wall", an area along the Genesee River where they would dive off the wall into the river.
As a young adult, Jack worked very hard so that he could go to two very fine schools, Aquinas St. Bonaventure University. He graduated from Bonnies and landed a job at Gates-Chili High School as a chemistry teacher.
Jack took up skiing sailing as an adult and become an expert in both. He enjoyed sailing just hanging out with all of his wonderful friends at Shumway Marina or his gang at Marge's at Seabreeze. Jack enjoyed being with this great bunch of friends at Shumway. He worked hard at staying in shape walking from his home on Beach Ave. down to Charlotte Beach Pier and back home, all the time swinging his weights.
He worked played hard and loved all of his friends. He will be greatly missed
