Grossi, Jonathan P. Springwater: July 7, 2019. Jonathan is predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Grossi; parents, Leo Jane Grossi sister, Mary Ann Viola. He is survived by his sisters, Judith (Ronald) King Patty (Vinny Reitano) Valerie; nephews niece, Leo (Noumai) Viola III, Ronald King, Jr., Joey Valerie, Jane Marie Valerie, Vinny (Alicia) Valerie Jonathan Valerie; great-nephews great-niece, Nicholas Viola, Allison Viola, Giovanni Valerie Antonio Valerie. Jonathan's life story will be shared during his visitation, Sunday, July 14th from 1-5 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 15th at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Parkway. Interment will be private. Those wishing may contribute to Humane Society @ Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450 in Jonathan's memory. Jonathan was born February 23, 1953 in Rochester, NY. He was one of four children to his parents, Leo Jane Grossi. During his childhood years Jonathan enjoyed playing baseball. While attending Aquinas Institute he played on the football team and boxed in the Mission Bouts. During his high school years he met the love of his life, Marilyn Willmott. Soon after graduation the two were married. He was very hardworking. He career spanning over 20 years found him working as a firefighter for the City of Rochester Fire Department. When not at the fire house Jonathan worked as a mason. Jonathan took a very simple approach to life, he always said, less is more. His love of the outdoors could be seen everywhere at his home in Springwater. There he and Marilyn were the stewards of over 50 acres of paradise. He loved being in the outside, fishing, hunting and managing the timber on his land. Jonathan enjoyed making, beer, wine, venison jerky and his self proclaimed best greens and beans for those he loved. During his freetime he enjoyed: reading the paper, watching TV shows to include, NCIS, Bull the black list, watching all sports, especially the NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills, plaing cards, gin was his favorite and playing fellow firefighters at ping pong matches at the fire house. Getting together with family was important to him. Jonathan looked forward to and hosted Thanksgiving every year. His extended family included the likes of his cats and Labrador's. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
