He is survived by his son, Joseph Abreu; daughter, Mary Ann (Tim) Welch; grandson, Daniel (Amber) Welch; granddaughter, Courtney (Mark) Schaller; great-grandchildren, Lucy Alex Welch; nephew, Alan (Eileen) Vieira. Joseph's visitation will be held 11am until 12 Noon on Friday, June 7th. His funeral service will follow at Noon at the Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane ( between Rt. 390 Long Pond Rd. ). Joe's burial will be held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be sent to the ABVI Goodwill, 451 Clinton Ave S, Rochester, NY 14620 in Joe's memory.

Died, suddenly on January 30, 2005. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 56 years, Mary; his two sons, Dan (Kathy) of Albany, and Larry (Michele); four grandchildren, Meredith, Lauren, Vanessa and Nick.
History
Joe served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1941-1945 stationed in Trinidad, B.W.I.He was employed by General Railway Signal Co. for 36 years and served on the Executive Board of the Local 323 IUE. He also served on the Board of Directors of the GRS Credit Union. He was a life long communicant of St. Augustine`s parish and a member of the Portuguese American Association.
