February 6, 2020. Joe is predeceased by his father, Joseph Akel. He is survived by his wife, Christine Akel; children, Joseph (Emily) Akel Gina (Patrick) McMahon; granddaughter, Avery Akel; mother, Lillian Akel; siblings, Michelle (Stan) Forte Edward Akel; several nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends. Joe's life story will be shared during his visitation at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.) Sunday, February 9th, 1-5 PM. His funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, February 10th, 10 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to American Liver Association, WNY Chapter, 25 Canterbury Rd., Suite 316, Rochester, NY 14607 in Joe's memory.
