Josephine Borzillary

Greece: Passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 103. Born in Cerda, Italy, Josephine came to the U.S. in the 1940’s to marry and start a family.

Predeceased by husband Leo; daughters Angela and Maryann; and several brothers in Italy. Survived by grandsons Marc (Robin) and Paul (Rosana Atilano), great-grandsons Ryan, Jonny, and Olivier, as well as many cousins.

Josephine worked at Hickey Freeman for many years as a seamstress, but her primary love in life was caring for her family. She always put family first and would make sure everyone else was taken care of before herself. She was extremely generous with her money and time. When she received a large sum of money in the 90’s, she gave it all away to her daughters and grandchildren, never considering keeping any of it for herself. She spent most of her time attending to family, especially through food. This was one of the biggest ways she showed her love, by cooking and feeding everyone she could. There really was no way to leave her house without eating…”Mangia!!”

Josephine’s funeral service will be celebrated at 2:30 pm on Friday, June 6th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. Visitation will follow the service, from 3:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home.
