Josephine was born on October 10, 1915 and grew up in the Norton/Goodman Street area. At a young age, she went to work to help out her family. She met her husband at a wedding and it was love at first sight. They were later married in St. Stanislaus Church. Josephine was a stay-at-home mom until both of her children went to school. She then went to work at Kodak for more than 27 years. Christmas Eve and birthdays were Josephine's favorite celebrations. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, crocheting - often making afghans for her family. She also made Christmas ornaments that she gave to her family, loved to travel and was a great cook. Some of Josephine's favorite things included Polka dance music, singing, keeping Polish traditions alive, watching old movies and the Hallmark channel, as well as soap operas and Wheel of Fortune. Family and friends would describe Josephine as someone who was warm, friendly, caring, persevering, thoughtful, happy, and spiritual. She was very social and made friend easily. Josephine was always hospitable, generous, extremely independent, self reliant, intelligent, witty, and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
