Gates: July 17, 2013. Predeceased by her husband, Charles K. Cornelius. Survived by her children, Charles R. (Lynn) Cornelius, Gail (Michael) Verdi; loving grandchildren, Charles Cornelius, Phillip (Patty) Cornelius, James (Cassy) Cornelius, Kimberly (Jerry) Manley, JoAnna (Bill) Teasdale, Michelle (Jamie) Shuler, Jennifer (Brian) Drake; 12 great-great-grandchildren ; 8 step-great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Wheat, Jean (Ken) Swart, Veronica Miller; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation will be Friday 5-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) June's funeral mass will be Saturday at 9:30 AM at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd., Rochester. Interment in White Haven Memorial Park. Those wishing may contribute to Hospice Of Rochester Lifetime Care, 3111 S. Winton Rd., Rochester, NY 14623 in June's memory. June was born on June 29, 1925 to Raymond and Tekla and grew up in Rochester and went to grade school at St. Monica's and graduated from West High School. She enjoyed taking guitar lessons for 10 cents a lesson. June met her husband, Charles Cornelius at work and were happily married St. Monica's Church. Together they raised their two children. Also a great joy to June's life were her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. June worked in the machine shops during the war. She enjoyed being a cashier at Wegmans. June really enjoyed family cruises, traveling. June and her family have enjoyed Thanksgiving at the White House in Webster Park. This event has been a Cornelius family tradition for 66 years. Some of her other favorite activities included camping, active volunteer at Sweden Walker Senior Center in Brockport. June was a Sister Day Member and seamstress. She enjoyed doing word search, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards. She had a great interest in Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, People's Court, Judge Judy, Fear Factor, and loved all the different kinds of music. Friends and family would best describe June as being kind, gentle, easy going, honest and quiet. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
