Karen Iuppa
GREECE - February 9, 2022. One-of-a-kind artist, provocateur, feminist, defender, protector, confidante, and advisor. Karen deeply touched the hearts and minds of everyone she met in ways so personal that each of us will never forget. We all remember the big laughs, the quick and easy humor, the electric temper, the distinctive perspective, the tasty food, the dirty jokes, and the occasional flash of something naughty - she always made it fun. Lake Ontario was her muse, her home, and her place of joy. A day "at the lake" with her was a day to savor and a memory to treasure.
Karen is predeceased by her parents, Louis & Josephine Iuppa; brother Bruce Iuppa; & niece Kiira Jepson. She is survived by her longtime boyfriend, Walter Morey; daughter, Lucy (Sam Ruff) Anderson; siblings, Andrea Jepson, Robert (Sue) Iuppa, & MJ (Peter Tonery) Iuppa; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Iuppa; nieces & nephews Bruce Jr, Tom, Louis, Matt, Suzanne, Rob, Lisa, Stephen, George, Meghan & Nick; sixteen adoring grandnieces and grandnephews, many cousins & dear friends including her Convent of the Sacred Heart girls and her expansive community in San Francisco where she lived from 1966 to 1996; Walter's children, David (Lisa) Morey, Kevin Morey, & Brian Morey; she is also survived by Walter's grandchildren Jacob and Leah.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Kiira Fund at WRRAP.org/donate in Karen's memory.
