2/7/2017 Lois De Simon(Kuhn) Greece at age 93 died peacefully surrounded by her family . She is predeceased by her loving husband Victor A. De Simon Esq., son John William De Simon and Son in Law Bill Ouellette. Her Parents William and Anna Kuhn. Siblings- Harold, Casper, John, Anna, Mary, Winnie, Helen, Dottie and Mitsy. Survived by her children Linda ( Dennis) Wentworth, Laura (Terry) Flynn, Sue (Greg) Hyatt, Terry (George) Grasley, Libby Ouellette, Jim (Diane)De Simon, Tom(Denise Charland )De Simon, Marge( Jim) Civitello. She met her sweetheart Victor De Simon while she attended St Mary's and he was at the University of Notre Dame. They married on the Notre Dame campus in the log cabin church soon after. A remarkable women who was widowed in her early 50s and raised her children remaining at home while working as a librarian in the Greece school district. She retired at age 70 from the Greece Public library. She loved Golf and playing bridge, Notre Dame, and spending time with her very large family. Gram was known to be a badass, laughing grandma, lover of the beach and Mackinaw island. She was the biggest cheerleader and supporter of all her families sporting events, plays, and every school activity including teaching reading groups in her grandchildren's classes. She reminded us all that we could do anything we set our mind to and the importance of loving one another. Nursed her family through illness and injury, always had a smile and never raised her voice. Favorite phrases were "How wonderful" and the classic "Ya got it" when you rang the bell to get into her apartment. Made the best sauce known to man and always had plenty of food for a large crowd. Forgiver to the grandkids when they drank her wine and replaced it with water. We were all truly blessed to be a part of this remarkable women's life. The family would like to express their eternal gratitude to Libby for taking Mom to our childhood home and providing the care along with Margie to allow Mom to pass with the dignity and love she deserved. The burning question will remain unanswered- Who really is the favorite son in law?? Thank you Mom for showing us all the greatest example of what a Mother, Mother in law and Gram should be. We will miss you. May God open up his loving arms and welcome his newest and most deserving angel into his kingdom in heaven. Private calling hours.
