Chili: July 16, 2017. Lou is predeceased by his parents, Lewis Mildred Faust. He is survived by his daughter Diane (David) Bacon; grandchildren, Alexander, Katherine Nathaniel Bacon; sister Marilyn Faust.
Lou grew up in Gates and graduated from Aquinas Institute in 1950. He later attended the University of Detroit and RIT. Well before his education he was a worker at heart. He started early with a paper route, babysitting and often helped his dad at their car repair shop and gas station. After he graduated from college, he began a career at Kodak. His experience in car repair carried through as side work and he often consulted with friends and family with their car purchases. He was a loving father and grandfather. His daughter Diane provided him with 3 beautiful grandchildren.
He loved to travel, cruise and visit places all over the world; Hawaii, Florida and Rome, Italy with a visit to the Vatican. Lou enjoyed soccer, surfing, classic cars and corvettes. As a car enthusiast, he became a member of the DeSoto Club. He participated in the Chili Republican Committee and facilitated a catholic church support group for people dealing with grief and loss. He would always say that there wasn't anything we couldn't handle together.
Lou was a positive and calm person. People were drawn to his warm and fun personality. He truly enjoyed helping others and was always generous with his time, finances and sharing his mechanical and engineering skills to benefit others.
Lou's visitation will be Thursday 2-4 7-9 at the Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 9:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 3010 Chili Ave., immediately followed by his burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
