Louis is survived by his wife, Mary (Kress) Laurer; children, Joe (Laura) Laurer, Lisa (Jeff) Cole David (Shannon) Laurer; grandchildren, Lauren (Demario) Watts, Jeremy Laurer, Courtney (Matt) Sherrill; great-grandsons, Holden Sherrill Rowen Watts; sister, Mary Anne Laurer; several cousins dear friends. Louis' services and burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery were private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to, Sisters of St. Joseph, 150 French Rd., Rochester, NY 14618 in Louis' memory. Click here to sign Louis's guests book Louis Laurer born in Rochester, NY on March 4, 1940 to Joseph Agnes (Fleming) Laurer. He grew up on Flint St. and attended St. Monica's. Around the age of 10, he started singing in the choir, he was a member of the boy scouts and also delivered newspapers. He enjoyed playing the piano and going skinny dipping in the Genesee River as a kid. He played KPAA baseball and worked summers at Kodak. After graduating from McQuaid in 1958, he went on to briefly attend St. John Fisher College and when he was finished, landed a job at Kodak. He stayed working at Kodak for over 30 years. He used to play Santa Claus for his co-worker's children for many years. In his spare time, Louis enjoyed photography, snowmobiling, making candles, collecting baseball cards or beanie babies. He enjoyed musicals, classical music music by Josh Groban. Louis was a hardworking, industrious man, always early, neat, orderly, and organized. He had beautiful penmanship, he was artistic, social, sensitive, and always made friends easily, he will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
