Predeceased by her parents, Estanislao Velazques Santos Rivera. Survived by her daughter, Sonia Rodriguez; grandchildren, Lucila (Eddie) Matos, Alma (Andy) Miller, Rafael Santiago, Jeremiah Miller Daniel Miller; great-granddaughter, Eduardo Santiago. Luz's visitation will be TODAY, Friday the 16th from 4-7 PM. Her funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, the 17th at 10am at the funeral Home. Luz was born on May 29, 1924 in Ponce, Puerto Rico where she grew up with 3 sisters and 3 brothers. During her adult years, Luz worked as a school teacher and as a cook at a school district in Ponce, PR. She married her husband Rafael and adopted their daughter Sonia. Luz also had 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She enjoyed being around her family as well as attending church and sewing. Luz was known to be a humble woman with a strong character. She was a loving mother and a good wife. Luz will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
