She was sister to Angie, Phil, Peter, and Jimmy. Mary Ann was born during an energetic time of change within the Fedele family. They had just moved from King Street to Maple Street. Joe was busy holding down two jobs and working on the new home. Meanwhile, Rose was homemaker and primary caretaker for Angie and Jimmy. They modeled the virtues of hard work and caring for their children. As a young adult, Mary Ann was active and athletic. She enjoyed bowling, golf, skiing, and horseback riding. She loved the company of animals and had a Boxer (Duchess), a cat (Spooky), and two more dogs (Lucy and Ellie) throughout her life. One day, she would even go on to co-own racehorses. Mary Ann was successful and well-liked in the classroom, all the way from Holy Family School to Gates Chili High School (Class of 1965). Her yearbook describes her as, "Happy go lucky and full of fun - pep, and ability, all in one"! She even earned herself the honor of a scholarship to the Career Academy where she graduated as a Medical Assistant. Mary Ann eventually assumed the role of primary caretaker for her siblings, Jimmy and Angie. While this meant that she spent much more time at home, Mary Ann continued to participate enthusiastically in family events, took up gardening, fed birds, and restored furniture in her free time. Mary Ann was a kind and generous soul who deeply loved Angie and Jimmy. She will be remembered as a friendly person, but she was a fierce fighter and advocate for her siblings when they needed her most. Mary Ann worked at Eastman Kodak Tennessee Division as a Lab Technician until she retired with a medical disability. She was active in her community, specifically the area surrounding the Holy Family Church. Mary Ann was a founding member of the People of Dutchtown neighborhood organization and later became part of the St. Theodore's Church community, too. Alongside her gardening and other outdoor interests, Mary Ann appreciated classical and country music, as well as watching the Hallmark Channel and westerns. Though she never married or had kids, Mary Ann was at the heart of her family and friends' lives. She was a fan of birthdays, holidays, and special occasions, making sure that those she loved felt truly special. Close friends John Tschetter, Karen Smith, Grace Romano, Norma Lee Gordon, and Dave Bianchi were especially touched by Mary Ann's kindness and light. Mary Ann left us a legacy of compassion and will be missed by everyone she knew.
