Mary B. Hutchison Life Story
Mary was born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her parents were John Angus Dempsey and Louisa Caldwell Dempsey. She had 2 brothers, Dan, John and 1 sister Francis.
In her younger years she was very active. She was involved in field hockey, swimming, dancing and was in a play called Little Women. In recent years she shared a lot of stories about her youth and the fun she had growing up.
At a young age Mary lost her 1st husband while pregnant with her 4th child Heather. She also had 3 children Maureen, Alan and Angus. Years later she met Norman her 2nd husband at the Motorcycle races. They moved to Canada and were married. She had 2 additional children Norma and Ross.
Mary was a Tailor and worked for high-end clients. She was always dressed well with matching shoes, purse, hat and lipstick. She made clothing and Halloween costumes for her children husband. She knitted beautiful sweaters and loved to crochet also.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband to several countries including her homeland Scotland. She went on cruises, tours and also enjoyed camping.
Mary loved to dance including Square dancing, Line dancing, Scottish dancing and Ballroom dancing. She was a member of Belles and Beaus Square dance club for many years and was still dancing at the age of 91.
She was an avid reader and also loved to watch soap operas such as All my Children and many more.
Mary was always happy and positive and said age is just a number. She had the cutest Scottish brogue. Her famous phrase is "I would like a wee bit of Sherry" and "that's lovely" after she drank the Sherry.
She has been called the sweetest woman by all who knew her.
She will be remembered as, strong, sweet, devoted, loving and fun.
We will miss her dearly as she was one of a kind. Fly with the Angels Mom.
