Spencerport: November 28, 2013. Predeceased by her husband, Domenico; sisters, Angie, Josephine, Frances; brothers, Tom Elia. Survived by her children, Leonarda "Dina" (Robert) Burroughs, Anthony J. (Linda) Siracusa John P. (Maria) Siracusa; grandchildren, Laura (Tim) Zigarowicz, Dominic, Joseph (Michelle), Victor (Tiffany), John (Kayla), Domenic, AnnaMarie Alex; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces nephews in the US Italy. Mimi was retired from Hickey Freeman where she worked for 27 years. Melchiora's visitation will be held 3-7PM on Sunday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte 390 Long Pond Rd). Her Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 AM on Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 55 Martha St. in Spencerport. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice, in Mimi's memory Courageously moved to the United States at the age of 27 to meet up with sister Angie in Rochester NY. Left Italy ahead of husband and two young children to find the way ahead (employment, housing and car license. Re-joined with husband and children in Rochester after one year apart. She was very strong willed and determined to do what was best for her family. A great person and always found the good in life. Enjoyed the simple things in life; faith in God, Family, Good food, wine, Port, animals, plants and nature. She loved her family trips to Cleveland, Ohio to see her sister, Frances and her family. She enjoyed beach vacations at Myrtle Beach, Italy 1971 1973 to meet her mom after 17 years. She enjoyed Outer Banks and Wildwood, NJ and Niagara Falls. Mimi was always focused on cooking and baking foods(bread, pizza, cakes, etc.) for her children and grandchildren .Some of her favorite singers, Dean Martin, Andrea Boccelli, Sinatra and many Italian songs on the Italian radio on Sunday mornings. Mimi said, "always respect people as you wish to be respected, think twice before making decisions, don't buy what you can't afford, and love, mutual trust and respect for each other is what makes a good marriage." Family and friends would best describe Mimi as respectful, kind, committed to marriage and family, trustworthy, hard working , loving, optimistic, peace maker, lived in the moment and never dwelled in the past. May we all find the simple things in life that are the most meaningful and real in governing true happiness as Mimi did. She was blessed with a good character to love life and all those that were a part of it. She will be truly missed and cherished by her family and all those that knew her.
