History Rochester: After a courageous battle, entered into rest on November 14, 2009 at age 85, comforted by the love of his devoted family. Additional Information Mike proudly served with the 9th Infantry Division during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart after being seriously wounded in combat. With his trademark cigar, Mike enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies at the donut shop and occasionally beating the odds at the casino. He was noted for his prize tomatoes and spur-of-the moment long distance driving trips and always enjoyed a good bowl of pasta. Above all, he loved his family, in whom he instilled the values of hard work, personal responsibility, and regard for others above self.
