Unger, Michele M., RN, DNP Greece: June 18, 2013. Predeceased by her father, Harry H., and brother, Michael H. DeVoe. Michele is survived by her loving family, including her devoted children, Shannon Unger Marc Unger and grandchild, Ryker Unger; and the father of her children, David Unger; devoted mother, RoseMarie DeVoe; caring siblings, Jean (John) DiMartino, Kathy (Leo)Dionese, Harry (Jacque) DeVoe, Patricia (Michael) Lipari; nieces nephews, Christine (Steve Fling) Dionese, Jennifer Dionese, Michael Dionese, Harry DeVoe IV, Erika DeVoe, Nicholas Lipari, Mikey Lipari; great-niece, Milan Dionese-Fling; many cousins close friends. A Registered Nurse for over 38 years, Michele was committed to nursing excellence. She obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Genesee Community College, Bachelor in Nursing from Regents College, Master's in Health Systems Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology, and Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Rush University. She was an active member of many professional nursing organizations and was a proud nursing staff member of the University of Rochester Medical Center, making a positive impact on countless nurses. Michele served Honor Flight Rochester, Inc. as a volunteer and a member of the Board of Directors. Visitation will be Friday 4-8 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd). Michele's funeral mass will be Saturday at 10:30 AM at Holy Ghost Church, 220 Coldwater Rd., Rochester. Interment in Holy Ghost cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations will be used to establish a Michele Unger Memorial Award, to be presented annually to a School of Nursing student enrolled in the Leadership in Healthcare Systems Master of Science program at the U of R. A special thank you to the family and close friends who stood by her and made the past months easier.
