Nancy was born May 20, 1924 and grew up in Olean, NY. She graduated from West High School. Nancy was like a second mother in her family as she took care of her siblings. In her mid-teens her whole family moved to Rochester, NY. During Nancy's adult years, she worked at McCurdy's and modeled for the company. She was also a book keeper and an active volunteer at voting polls for more than 50 years. Nancy met her husband Robert through mutual friends and they were married on March 8, 1946. Some of her favorite life events were celebrating the Christmas holiday and baking Christmas cookies. She loved to spend time at their family cottage and also at the 1000 Islands. Nancy liked to cook and garden vegetables and flowers. She was very artistic with cake baking and decorating and was very proud of the wedding cake she made for her daughter. It wasn't until she was in her 80's and her arthritis kept her from baking. Nancy was also a Girl Scout Leader and continued leading after her children grew out of girl scouts. She also loved to dance and enjoyed ballroom dancing. One of her favorite T.V. shows was the Young and the Restless as well as the movie Star Trek. The music Nancy enjoyed most was the Trans Siberian Orchestra, Yianni and Big Band music. She liked to read the daily newspaper and was any animal lover as she enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. Nancy was described as a caregiver who was the matriarch of her family and who was also very giving and patient. Nancy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by many loved ones and friends.
