Survived by children, Anthony R. (Linda) DeMonte, Jean Van Allen, William D. (Jo Carole) DeMonte; grandchildren Anthony DeMonte, Denise DeMonte, Ryan Van Allen, Scott (Danielle) Van Allen, David DeMonte, Marissa DeMonte, Andrea (Robert) Childs, Julie Scuderi, Mark Scuderi, Jr.; brother, Vito (Beverly) DeMonte; sister-in-law, Nora DiNardo; special nephew, Nick (Colleen) DeMonte; and many loving nieces and nephews. Nicholas was a long-time owner of Columbia Auto Sales, Inc. Donations In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St., PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY, 13057 in Nicholas's memory. Services Nicholas's visitation will be Friday 5-8 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte. 390 Long Pond Rd). His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 West Ridge Rd. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Additional Information Nicholas was born in New York City to Vito Catherine Demonte, but grew up in Dutchtown in the city of Rochester. At a young age, Nick helped build the parks at Red Creek working with the CC Camps. He had a special interest in automobiles at a young age and made a lifelong career in the auto business. He had a strong work ethic. Nick worked many hours each week at his own business and also had a great working relationship with Frear Chevrolet. Nicholas was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He truly enjoyed being surrounded by his family. Pre-deceased by his loving wife Mary T., they enjoyed their first date at the movies, were married in Rochester, NY, and remained happily married for 67 years. They had 4 children and he always enjoyed spending summers with them at Lake George and the Thousand Islands. In his later years, he loved spending the winters with his wife Mary in Florida and Las Vegas. Nick was a life-long member of St. John the Evangelist church in Greece, NY. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching boxing and football. He also liked bowling, playing cards, and playing checkers with his grandchildren. His famous quote was "Your health is your wealth" and "Good bye and Good luck".
