Nikolina “Niki” (Tianello) Gionta
1934-2024 Rochester, NY: at the age of 90, a lifelong resident of Gates passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, surrounded by family. Niki was born on September 28,1934 in Canastota, NY to Giuseppe “Joseph” Tianello & Pasqualina Frate. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Minturno, Italy.

Niki is predeceased by her husband, Salvatore “Sam” Gionta; parents, Joseph & Pasqualina Tianello; great-grandson, Luciano Manioci; sisters, Josephine (Jim) Pino, Mary (Mario) Milizia, Lee (Peter) DeNova, Anna Maria Tianello, Rosina (Raymond) Rose; brother, Rick (Marilyn & Nancy) Tianello.

She is survived by her children, Susan (James) Landers, Mark (Lucy) Gionta, Julie Gionta Smith, Paul (Stacey) Gionta; grandchildren, Sarah (Ian) Maginnis, David (Deborah) Landers, John (Jennifer) Landers, Catherine (Steve) Sessler; Christopher (Ashley) Gionta, Marissa (Ray) Manioci, Adam (Alexei) Gionta, Sabrina & Alexis Smith, Morgan, Samantha & Taylor Gionta; great-grandchildren, Claire, Erin, Quinn, Zane, Jamie, Joanne, Jaina, Ali, Jack, Alessia, Dominic, Nikola; many godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifetime friends. Niki was a member of Holy Ghost Church for over 60 years.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 3:00-7:00pm on Thursday, October 10th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester NY 14626. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am on Friday, October 11th at the Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Road, Gates NY 14606. Interment in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Padre Pio Institute of Rochester at 141 Frank Dimino Way, Rochester NY 14624 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. The family would like to thank the 2600 unit at Unity Hospital and Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center for their exceptional care.
