O.B. Ware

O.B. Ware 84, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024, in the comfort of his home in Greenwood, Delaware. He was born on September 14, 1939, in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late R.H. and Mary Jane (Redding) Ware. At the tender age of 4 years old, O.B.'s mother unexpectedly departed from this life, and he was raised by his Paternal Grandparents, Arthur and Sadie Ware, until their passing.
O. B. received his early education in the Fort Valley Public School District. In 1952, he went to live with his father R.H., and stepmother Clara Ware, in Rochester, New York. O.B. continued his education and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School.
After graduating, O.B. attended trade school where he became a master brick mason. O.B. went on to work as an independent contractor for over 30 years. A lot of his work can be seen throughout Rochester, New York with one notable structure being the Marketplace Mall.
O.B. loved his family. On any given day, he was likely to show up at somebody's house. He also loved cooking, eating and doing crossword puzzles. You would often find him in the kitchen cooking dinner for the family or baking a delicious sweet potato pie. If he wasn't in the kitchen, he would be relaxing with a crossword puzzle book in his hand.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his two daughters; Tara(Bryant) Lake, of Greenwood, Delaware, Wanda Weaver and two sons; Jeffrey Lewis, Corey Nesmith, all of Rochester, New York; Grandchildren; Terrance Jr., Nickkia, Jasmine, Tyrik, Coraun, Tahj, Alesha, Jeffrey Jr. and Stoney; Great-Grandchildren; Tristan, Terryn and Rhimani; two sisters, Wendy Ware and Learie Gilbert; one brother; Alphonso Green; special niece; Sylvia Ware; special cousins Claudia Austin and Freddiemae Humble, who were more like sisters and Vickie Ware, who affectionately, called him Uncle Buck; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
O.B. was preceded in death by his father; R.H., mother; Mary Jane, stepmother; Clara, two sisters; Ella Reaves and Carol Ware, one brother; Robert Ware.
O.B.'s family and friends will greet you from 12:00-1:00 PM on Saturday, May 25, 2024 with his service immediately following at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home Inc, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, New York 14626
