Rochester: August 2, 2013 at the age 67. Predeceased by her husband, Frank Cignarale on April 22, 2013. Survived by her children, Vincent Cignarale, Jonathan Cignarale, Anthony (Shawn) Cignarale, Maria (James Walker) Cignarale, Christina Cignarale; two loving granddaughters, Linai Weatherspoon and Jazmyn Walker; many loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 PM at the Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) Rena's funeral service will be at 11 AM on Thursday at Hope Christian Fellowship Church, 3495 Lake Ave, Rochester. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, 840 University Ave., Rochester, NY 14607 in Rena's memory.
Rena grew up on Lorimer Street and was one of eleven children. She attended St. Anthony's grade school and continued her education at Nazareth Academy. Rena met her husband, Frank Cignarale through family and friends. They both shared a short courtship . Rena and Frank were wed at Most Precious Blood Church. They were married for 46 years.
Rena enjoyed driving the school bus at Most Precious Blood, working festivals, and as a Kindergarten Aide. She loved road trips. Some of her favorite hobbies included cooking, gardening, caring for her pets, doing jigsaw puzzles, and sewing. Rena loved spending time with family, and volunteering. Rena was an excellent Italian cook and loved her flower gardens. She enjoyed watching the birds. She had great interest working with large detailed puzzles. On Sundays Rena enjoyed watching soccer and the Washington Redskins.
Family and friends would best describe Rena as being kind, giving, caring and friendly. Rena always put others first, had a good sense of humor, and was strong and resilient. Rena was very active in church and enjoyed her Bible Studies. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
