Robert "Bob" A. Karnyski
Greece - November 14, 2018. Bob is predeceased by his wife Arlene Karnyski; brother Tom Karnyski. He is survived by his children, Susan (Kevin) Lewis Scott (Jill) Karnyski; grandchildren, Robert Lewis, Derek Karnyski Sarah Karnyski; sister, Carol (Patrick) Delaney; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Bob taught Technical Drawing at Greece Olympia High School for over 30 years.
Bob's life story will be shared at his visiting hours, Sunday, November 18th, 1-5 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond). His funeral Mass will be celebrated, Monday, November 19th, 10 AM at St. Mark's Church, 54 Kuhn Rd., immediately followed by his burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215 in Bob's memory.
Bob was born on December 21, 1946 to Anthony and Carrie Karnyski in Buffalo, NY. During his childhood, he was known to be tough and respected but also fun and well loved. Bob graduated college from Buffalo State and went on to be a teacher in the Greece Central School District in Rochester, NY.
He spent time playing lots of sports throughout his life; hockey, soft ball, basketball, racquet ball, bowling, pickle ball and playing poker. Bob liked going to local Red Wings baseball games and his favorite major sports teams were Buffalo Bills, Red Sox and Sabres. He enjoyed listening to classical rock music and one of his favorite artists was Bob Dylan. Bob loved spending time with his family during special occasions and holiday gatherings. He was described to have a playful nature with his grandchildren as well as a good sense of humor. He loved to do card tricks and he always had trivia questions in his pocket. Bob will be deeply missed and he will always be fondly remembered by many dear friends and family.
