Robert is predeceased by his granddaughter, Emily Hobbs; brother, Thomas Whalen; He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Clark) Whalen; children, Cindy (Scott) Sullivan, Robert M. Whalen, Deborah (Patrick Hobbs) Ciminelli; grandchildren, Hailey Ciminelli, Amanda Sullivan, Robert Hobbs; great-granddaughter, Vivianica Odom; sisters, Marion (Anthony) Alu, Joan Coady; brother, James (Diana) Whalen; brother-in-law's, Richard Clark, Fay (Sarah) Clark, Carl Clark, Gary (Paul Johnson) Clark ; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Robert's visitation will be Monday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) His funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment at Riverside Cemetery is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to IACKids, P.O. Box 16201 Rochester, NY 14616 in Robert's name.
Robert enjoyed playing Soccer and Basketball during his High School years. He was very hard working and dedicated himself for over 26 years to Eastman Kodak Company.
Robert married his high school sweetheart Patricia (Clark) Whalen. Their family grew to include three children; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He enjoyed racing and competed with his 66 Ford Galaxy at Spencer Speedway in the 70's. He also enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things. This was evident by his self proclaimed welding skills. He was a Nascar Fan and looked forward to watching the races every Sunday. He never rooted for one particular driver. He did however, not want wish for some to be victorious. Robert also enjoyed listening to Country Music.
Robert was caring and did his part as a caregiver for his family. He was a good provider, always making certain that his family had all they needed. His mischievous and caring nature will be missed by all who loved him.
