GREECE - April 7, 2019. Ron is predeceased by his parents Salvatore Elizabeth Spinelli. He is survived by his wife, Alexis A. Spinelli; children, Caryn L. Spinelli Joseph M. (Nicki) Spinelli; granddaughter Taylor A. Spinelli; sister, Pat Purpura; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins dear friends. Ron was the owner/operator of Hilton Ace Hardware for many years. All services were held privately. Ron was born June 2, 1945 welcomed by his parents Sam and Libby and especially his "OLDER" sister Pat. Ron and Pat had a very special sibling bond, talking frequently on the phone for hours similar to how teenagers "used" to talk before texting became the norm. This close knit family lived under the same roof on Plymouth Avenue including his parents, sister, grandmother, aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins. At age 11 his life changed dramatically as he became a type 1 Diabetic. However as serious as this condition was impacting his health; this did not slow Ron down. He was a fierce competitor on the speed skating team winning many races under Coach Calapari. Ron was also a talented saxophone player in the Dance Band under the direction of Mr. Eugino at Jefferson High School. Additionally he felt the "need for speed" which led to drag racing at Spencer Speedway. Later in life you could hear Ron burning rubber down our local streets, especially in his favorite vehicle the Cadillac CTS-V. Upon returning home he would be "scolded" by his wife and daughter for this behavior, but Ron just could not help himself; loving the adrenaline rush. Ron was extremely charismatic and had many friends, especially those of the female type. However in the end his heart was smitten by one special woman who caught his eye at Terrace Garden Bowling Center in 1964. This beautiful woman inside and out is Alexis Balacki, lovingly known to him as Lex. Their lives became permanently intertwined on July 16, 1966 at Most Precious Blood Church. After several years he was first blessed with a beautiful baby girl affectionately called "the skinny guinea with the meatball eyes" and next a precious baby boy. The years coming were spent enjoying family time at home along with traveling to Niagara Falls, Sodus Point and numerous amusement parks. Ron's career as an inside salesman began at Clark Witbeck spanning 24 years. His drive and dedication at Clark Witbeck prompted his promotion to Vice President. For years Ron very much wanted to own a business and his dream came true when he purchased Hilton Ace Hardware in 1992. You could find Ron there daily working tirelessly to achieve business success. It was a family friendly environment where employees and customers loved Ron dearly. Upon selling Hilton Hardware in 2008 he retired ready for relaxation and new adventures to come his way. By far his most enjoyable activity was gambling, of course second to spending time with his family. You could now find Ron often times at 1 of 2 of his favorite destinations; Seneca Niagara Casino and Las Vegas. Always hoping lady luck would be on his side while playing slots or the card game Mississippi Stud. There are no words to accurately describe how deeply Ron will be missed. His generosity, his extremely opinionated view points on certain topics and of course his funny and sarcastic nature.
