She is survived by the love of her life and cherished husband of 64 years, Anthony (Nino) Coccia; children, Douglas Coccia, David (Karen Mayne) Coccia Dawn (Ronald Piperni) Burgio; grandchildren, David (Lindsey Dedmon) Coccia, Donald (fiance' Kelli Jean Neary) Burgio, Joseph (Gina) Coccia, Anthony (Nicole Bennett) Burgio Michael Burgio. Rose Marie grew up on Adams St. in Rochester and graduated from Madison High School. She later was introduced to her future husband Nino by his aunt on a blind date. They married April 14, 1951. She worked with Nino as Office Manager of Covia Lath and Plastering. Nino and Rose Marie traveled the world together. A couple of their favorite places were Villa Roma and Delmonte on the Pines.
Cooking and baking were some of her favorite things to do, especially around the holidays. She was noted for her angel hair pasta with marinara, peas and hardboiled eggs, boulati and Italian sausage bread. Rose Marie enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her 5 grandsons. She often watched many cooking shows as well as one of her favorite TV shows, Blue Bloods. She was also an avid reader.
Rose Marie often took time out of her busy schedule to volunteer at the VA Hospital. She had a good outlook on life, always positive, lovable and giving.
Rose Marie's visiting hours will be 3-7 pm on Sunday, November 1 at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte 390 Long Pond Rd). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Monday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester, NY 14615. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice, 3111 Winton Rd South, Rochester NY 14623 in Rose Marie's memory.
