Rose V. (Giancursio) Randazzo ROCHESTER - December 8, 2020. Rose is survived by her husband, Vince Randazzo; children, Joe Randazzo, Vinnie Randazzo Barbara Randazzo; grandchildren, Gelsey (Rob) Markese, Leah (fiance, Zach Bliek) Randazzo Ava Randazzo; great-grandson, Vincent Markese; several nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends. Per NYS regulations all guests are required to wear masks and hand sanitize at the funeral home and church. Rose's life story will be shared during her visitation, Sunday, December 13th, 1-5 PM at the Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Monday, December 14th, 9AM at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave. Her Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to, Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620 in her memory. Click here to sign Rose's guest book BIRTHPLACE - Born in Rochester, NY on May 20, 1929; daughter of Italian immigrants from Abruzzi, Italy; six siblings: two brothers, four sisters CHILDHOOD - Attended No. 7 Grammar School FAMILY/SIBLINGS - Mother: Antoinette Father: Nicola Brothers: Joseph and Vincent Sisters: Grace, Betty, Helen, Rose Violet (Vi), Natali (passed away as a young child) HOBBIES/INTERESTS - Always adored music, both of her brothers were musicians. TEENAGER - Worked as a waitress at her family's restaurant, "The Rainbow" on Brown St./Allen St. in Rochester, NY SCHOOL YEARS - Attended Madison High School ACCOMPLISHMENTS - Graduation class of 1948 HOBBIES/INTERESTS - Sang in Choir YOUNG ADULT - MILITARY - Husband, Vincent, served in the Navy on a destroyer during the Korean War from 1952-1954 HOBBIES/INTERESTS - Worked in family restaurant, loved jazz and live music ADULT - JOBS - Worked at Kodak in the early 1950's; went to Continental School of Beauty for Cosmetology in the late 50's. Upon graduation, she worked out of a salon in her home as a hairdresser - a job she was extremely passionate about. MARRIAGE - Marriage to Vincent T. Randazzo on April 18, 1951 RELATIONSHIPS - Met future husband, Vincent, at The Rainbow Restaurant on New Year's Eve in 1948 when she was waiting on their table CHILDREN - Joseph, 1954 Vincent, 1958 Barbara, 1960 TRAVEL - Vi absolutely loved to travel. Her and her husband were avid boaters where they traveled all along Lake Ontario, many times taking trips to Toronto. They also had a camper in the mountains in Springwater they frequented to. She loved to learn about new cultures and traditions - in Vi traveled to Venezuela and the Virgin Islands in with her very dear friend, Mary Tehan, and it has always been one of her favorite memories. ACCOMPLISHMENTS - Graduated from Continental School of Beauty HOBBIES/INTERESTS - Absolutely loved everything to do with fashion. She stayed current and up-to-date on all of the latest beauty/fashion trends. She loved her job as a hairdresser. Always loved to entertain and was an amazing cook as her mother was a cook in their family restaurant. OLDER ADULT RETIREMENT - Adopted granddaughter, Gelsey, in 1992 GRANDCHILDREN - Gelsey, January 1990 Leah, October 1990 Ava, September 2012 GREAT GRANDSON - Vincent, 2019 TRAVEL - Owned a Condominium in Florida where they traveled to multiple times a year; frequent travels to New York City; traveled on the Queen Elizabeth II; took cruises to Bahamas; many day trips to Letchworth State Park and Niagara Falls ACCOMPLISHMENTS - HOBBIES/INTERESTS - Loved the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. Loved to attend many concerts, including her all-time favorite Frank Sinatra. She was passionate about cooking and loved to show her love for others through food. No one left her house hungry. She loved to garden; she always had a house full of plants and a yard full of beautiful landscaping and flowers. She was on a women's bowling league. She loved fashion and followed all of the latest trends, and as a result was a VERY avid shopper!
