Rosemary P. Janosky
April 2, 2023. Rosemary is predeceased by her husband, Alvin F. Janosky; parents, Joseph & Mary Mallot; and sister, Helen "Jackie" Olexa. She is survived by her son, Mark (Beverly) Janosky; beloved grandson, Thomas M. (Tracy) Janosky; great-granddaughter, Kendyl Rose Janosky & sister, Mary Kubofcik.
Rosemary was born August 19, 1935, in Cleveland, over a decade after her two sisters. Her formative years were spent near Orwell, Ohio on her parents' dairy/crop farm near the Grand River. She attended and graduated from Grand Valley High School. She then moved to Cleveland near her sisters. It was there she met her husband, Al, and then had their only child, Mark.
Her farm roots and her husband helped form her love of the outdoors, particularly traveling, gardening (a true green thumb) and fishing. This love was especially true the two years in the early 1960's when the family lived in Littleton, Colorado where she looked forward to watching the sun rise on the Rocky Mountains each morning.
After returning to Cleveland for a few years they moved to Warren, Ohio where Rosemary worked at Peerless Winsmith as a secretary while also helping Al run Al's Club Leon Bar and Grill.
In her later years living in Cortland, Ohio near Mosquito Lake, she was often highlighted in the local papers for her fishing prowess, including ice fishing. Rose was affectionately known as the "Ohio BlueGill Queen". She also served several families in the role of a nanny. While she was generally a quiet woman, everyone loved her due to her honesty and care for others.
Rosemary's last years were spent in Rochester, New York near her son, grandson and their families. She was grateful to live near her great granddaughter, Kendyl Rose, while engaging in friendships at Fleming Point Independent Living.
Rosemary's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Unity Hospital and the Timothy McCormick Transitional Care Center. Her services were held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be sent to Hope Church, 1301 Vintage Lane, Rochester NY 14626 in Rosemary's memory.
