Ross S. Petralia

Born in Rochester, NY on May 9, 1927, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025 at the age of 97. He was a devoted husband and loving father who was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ida in 2007.

Ross is survived by his children, Ralph Petralia (Lisa), and Joseph Petralia (Kim); grandchildren, Rick Petalia (Kayla) Jason Petralia, Joseph Petralia (Dara), Ryan Petralia (Jenn), Dylan Brooks (Luisa), and Emily Brooks; great-grandchildren, Macy, Cecily, Hayden, and Angelo; siblings, Josephine DeFeo, Sam Petralia (Shirley), and Lillian Subrani (Raoul); goddaughter, Ida McAllian; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Kay DePede, Therese Malvaso, and Ron Agnello.

Ross was a proud US Army Veteran and served his country during WWII. He worked at Xerox for 42 years as an expeditor before retiring in 1989. Ross was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Greece, NY. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. Ross loved to read, romance novels were his favorite, and he was an expert at completing puzzles with over 1,000 pieces.

Ross will be most remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. His smile and the twinkle in his eye would light up the room and melt your heart. Everyone who met him, loved him and he will be dearly missed.

Ross’s life story will be shared during visitation, 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, April 14th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Tuesday, April 15th at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
