He was 79 years old. Survived by his wife of 52 years Mary (DelleFave) Mitrano; son and daughter-in-law, Salvatore (Beth) Mitrano III; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy (Kevin) DeRyke and Susan (Jim) Vermeire; grandchildren, Salvatore IV John Mitrano; Jessica Alex DeRyke; Gabriella, J.R., Tiffany Vermeire; brother and sisters, Andrew Mitrano, Theresa Mitrano, and Marge Perricelli; brothers-in-law, Carl (Gail) DelleFave and Ray (Paula) DelleFave as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Donations In lieu of flowers, Salvatore can be remembered by a contribution to the St. Michael's Renovation Fund which can be sent to 124 Evergreen Street, Rochester, NY 14605. Services Salvatore's Visitation will be on Friday 3-8 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.). Please meet the family for Salvatore's Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 7, at 12:30 pm at St. Frances X. Cabrini Parish at St. Michael's (on N. Clinton and Clifford Avenue). Interment private. Additional Information Salvatore served in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Korean Conflict. He was a Gannett employee for 42 years. He started in the Maintenance Department and at his retirement in 1995 he was Pressroom Foreman. He was active in Boy Scouts for many years and watched his son and grandsons reach Eagle Rank. He was a devoted husband and father. He took special pride in the achievements of all his grandchildren. Salvatore was an active member of St. Michael's Church and was happy to help out at services or as the "go to fix-it" person. He will be missed by all who knew him.
