October 24, 2013. Predeceased by brother, Joe Veltre; son-in-law, Mike Borrelli. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Annette Veltre; children, Patty Borrelli, Jane (Matt) Borrelli, Salvatore Veltre, Jr; grandchildren, Vanessa (Nathan) Berry, Stephanie Borrelli, Marcella Veltre, Sherri Borrelli, Matthew Borrelli, Salvatore Veltre III; sister, Maria Veltre; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law sisters-in-law. Visitation is 1-4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd). Salvatore's funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Greece. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Salvatore was born on October 29, 1933 in Pastorano, Italy and immigrated to the US at age 18. He joined the US Army and and enjoyed the time he served. He was very patriotic. Sal always displayed red, white, and blue clothing. Salvatore met his future bride, Annette, on a date that was set up by family. They were wed on July 5, 1958 at St. Vitus Church in Newcastle, PA and remained married for 55 years, raising 3 children together. Family parties were among some of Sal's favorite events, as well as Christmas Eve and decorating his yard for the Christmas holiday. Some of his favorite activities in his spare time included watching soccer, cooking, and gardening and working in the yard. Sal always drove a Cadillac. He played the accordian, sang at family events, and liked Dean Martin and watching Channel 42, the Spanish channel. Family and friends would best describe Sal as someone who was easy going, never complained, selfless, kind-hearted, lovable, well-liked, even tempered, and a man who was always jumped right in to help others. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
