Sherri (Masi) Sciortino "Chef Sher" "Weezie" Rochester: On June 23, 2024, Sherri lost her battle to ovarian cancer. Sherri was born on October 17, 1965, in Rochester, NY to George, Jr. and Barbara Masi. Sherri grew up in Greece, NY and quickly became immersed and dedicated in growing the family business, Mascot Inc. Sherri lost her father at the age of 2 yrs and Sherri's mom, Barbara, provided her with the love and guidance she needed and gave her a beautiful childhood. The Masi family; Papa George and Grandma Rose, Aunt Mary Louise and Uncle Louie, provided additional support to Sherri and her brother, George. In 1991, she married Alphonse (Fo) Sciortino and had two sons, Jake and James. Sherri was a sports mom, always cheering her boys on; she was the fun mom. Filled with love and good food, their house was home to everyone. Decorating for holidays was one of her favorite things to do. Sherri had a love for music, karaoke and dancing. Known as the "Dancing Queen", she was the first and last person on the dance floor. The party started when Sherri arrived and sang her signature song, "Crazy" by Patsy Cline. She loved spending time at Port Bay at the cottage she shared with her brother and sister-in-law, George and Julie Masi. On the water with the sun glaring, music blasting, Sherri was her happiest. Always surrounded by her family, she lived her life the way she wanted to. She never complained and saw the best in everyone. She was a kind and gentle soul. Sherri was blessed to have her cousin Jen by her side and the "Fabulous Five" besties; Johnna, Julie, Karen, Krischelle, and Lauren. Their friendship, love and caring over the years was so appreciated. They gave Sherri strength and friendship along this journey. Sherri had two canine loves; her sidekick, Nellie who spent every day with Sherri, and Bella, who passed a few years ago. Sherri's passing is a loss to our family and our hearts will ache forever. Honor Sherri with an act of kindness to others. Smile when you hear her favorite songs and know someday we will be together again with our "Dancing Queen". Sherri is predeceased by her father, George Masi, Jr, grandparents, George and Rose Masi, Clarence and Gertrude Kline, and her in-laws, Alfonso and Maria Sciortino. She is survived by her loving husband, Alphonse (Fo) and sons, Jake and James Sciortino, mother, Barbara Masi, brother George (Julie) Masi, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, dear friends, and sweet Nellie. Sherri's Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am on Monday, July 1st at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 West Ridge Road. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lipson Cancer Center, c/o Rochester Regional Health Foundation, 330 Monroe Ave, Suite 400, Rochester NY 14607 in her memory to support Ovarian Cancer Research.
