August 5, 2019. Steven was predeceased by his parents, Merle Doris Toland. He is survived by his wife Paula (Zeller) Toland; children, Samantha (Tim Kyle) Toland, Stephanie Toland Joshua (Lorri Smith) Toland; grandchildren, Vinny, Richie Audri; siblings, Merle Toland, Carol (Peter) Harris Charlie (Janice) Toland; several nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends. He was a loving husband, father grandfather. He was the center of lots of laughter and craziness. His loved ones have man fond memories of Steve just being Steve. He was very proud of his children grandchildren. The family would like to thank, the many nurses, doctors, oncologists, family, friends and co-workers who helped them get through these recent trying times. Steve never gave up. He fought the good fight. He will be an inspiration for years to come to those who loved him. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Steven's life story will be shared during his visitation, Sunday, August 11th, 1-5 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.). Steven was born October 3, 1961 in Rochester NY to his parents Merle Doris. He was an Athena High School Graduate in 1979. During his high school years, he enjoyed having fun with friends and riding motorcycles. Steven was a hard worker. He had worked in Tool Die shops and he had worked at Calvary Robotics for more than 20 years. He assisted the company engineering their many different products. His work responsibilities had him flying all over the US and Europe. He met Paula through mutual friends one night at the Penny Arcade. Family time was very important to him. Holidays, spending time around the fire pit, Christmas the 4th of July were all special. Steven had a very mechanical thinking mind. He enjoyed fixing anything that used gasoline to run. His family said that he was a "closet Buffalo Bills fan" his music taste included 80's Rock Heavy Metal. When the news came on all were welcomed/forced to watch with him. He also loved watching action movies. He was a big kid at heart, he was usually at the center of the kid's "excitement" once Paula came home, he would say "they were fine until you came home." He had a sense of humor, was reliable, helped others, was knowledgeable, straight forward personality and was always joking around. He was loved and will be missed by family and friends.
